Uploading your child's proof of age

For parents and guardians — how to confirm your child's date of birth and upload a document for a youth season.

Overview

If your child plays in a youth season, the league needs proof of their date of birth before their team can be approved. You'll confirm the date, accept StatsCentral's consent policy, and upload one document. It takes a couple of minutes, and you'll only need to do it once — a verified age carries over to future seasons.

What you'll need

One clear photo or scan of any of these:

  • birth certificate
  • passport
  • school ID
  • government ID

It must be a PDF, JPG or PNG file, up to 10 MB, with the date of birth easy to read.

Uploading from your account

  1. Sign in to StatsCentral. If your only role is looking after a player, you land in the Player Portal. Otherwise, choose Player Portal from the app switcher.
  2. Under Players, each child linked to your account is listed with where they stand.
  3. Select your child.
  4. Check the Date of birth, as shown on the document. It's filled in with what the team entered — change it if it's wrong.
  5. Read the consent policy, then choose the Type of document and your file.
  6. Tick the box to confirm you're the parent or guardian and agree to the policy.
  7. Click Upload document.

You'll get an email when the document has been reviewed.

If we ask for a clearer copy

Sometimes a photo is blurry or cut off. We'll email you what's unclear with an Upload a clearer copy button. The link works without signing in, but only once and only for 72 hours. After that, upload from your child's page in the Player Portal instead. Never forward the email: anyone with the link could upload a document for your child.

Who sees the document, and for how long

  • Only authorized StatsCentral reviewers can see it. The team and league only see whether it's verified.
  • Every time a reviewer opens it, it's logged.
  • The file is deleted 7 days after you upload it, whether or not it's been reviewed. We keep only the result, so your child doesn't have to prove their age again.

Registration questions

Some leagues ask extra questions, such as your child's school. They appear on your child's page in the Player Portal under Registration questions. Questions marked Required to apply must be answered before the team can be approved. Click Save answers when you're done.

A league may also ask you to upload a document, such as an enrollment certificate. Choose a PDF, JPG or PNG of up to 10 MB and click Save answers. Uploading another file replaces the first. Unlike proof of age, the league can open this file, and so can you. It's deleted 30 days after the season ends.

Edge cases

  • The document was rejected — the email explains why. Upload a new one from your child's page in the Player Portal.
  • The file was deleted before we reviewed it — we'll email you to upload it again. We're sorry for the extra step.
  • You want to withdraw consent or delete your data — go to Settings in the Player Portal and use Delete my account. It deletes your account and your children's, erases every document, verification result, consent record and registration answer, and removes your children from their teams. This can't be undone.
