How players pay for streaming
What credits are, what an hour of streaming costs, and why you never handle the money.
Overview
Players pay StatsCentral, not you. Your staff never take money for streaming, never issue a refund, and never need to know what anything costs at the counter.
This article is so you can answer a player who asks, and so the numbers on your dashboard make sense.
Credits
Players buy credits and spend them on streaming time. Credits are bought in the app with a card or a bank transfer, in pesos.
Two different numbers are involved, and they are easy to confuse:
| What it is | |
|---|---|
| Credit price | What a player pays to buy one credit, in pesos. |
| Streaming rate | How many credits an hour of streaming costs. |
By default a credit costs ₱100 and an hour of streaming costs 1 credit. StatsCentral can set different rates for your venue, or for a single court, as part of your agreement.
What a player is charged
Streaming is charged by the clock, not by the game. A player might stream one game, six in a row, or a session nobody scored — the charge is the same either way, because it follows the time.
- A stream shorter than five minutes is charged as five minutes. Without a floor, a player could start and stop repeatedly and never pay for any of it.
- A stream is charged for at most four hours. Past that it is closed automatically.
- Time is charged as it runs, so half an hour costs half an hour.
Buying credits mid-game
A player who runs out part-way through setting up can buy more without losing their place. They come back to where they were.
If a player says their payment went through but their balance has not moved, ask them to reopen the app before escalating — the confirmation sometimes arrives a moment after they return.
Why a player was refused
A player is told before anything starts if they cannot cover the minimum. Nothing is charged and no stream begins. They need to top up.
That is the only money-related refusal you will see. If a player says they were charged for a stream that never ran, send them to StatsCentral — every charge is recorded against the stream that caused it, so it can be traced and corrected.
What your venue earns
Your earnings follow streaming hours, which your dashboard shows and which the credits above pay for. The commercial terms — what your venue takes and how you are paid — are in your agreement with StatsCentral rather than in the app.
