Applying to a youth season

What your team needs before a league can approve you for a youth season, and how to track it.

Overview

When you apply to a youth season, the league can't approve your team until every player under 18 has verified proof of age and every player has answered any required registration questions. You can apply straight away — nothing blocks you from submitting — and you'll be able to see who is still outstanding and nudge their parents.

What the league needs

  • Proof of age for every player under 18. A parent or guardian confirms the date of birth, accepts StatsCentral's consent policy, and uploads a birth certificate, passport, or school or government ID. StatsCentral reviews it.
  • Answers to required registration questions, if the league has added any. These can apply to any season, not just youth ones.

Players 18 and over don't need to upload anything.

After you apply

  1. You'll get an email saying the application isn't eligible for approval until everything is in, and who you're waiting on.
  2. Parents of players under 18 are emailed automatically with a link to their child's page in the Player Portal. Their guide is Uploading your child's proof of age.
  3. Go to Applications in Team OS. Under your application, the Before approval checklist shows:
    • how many players are verified, for example 3 of 5 verified
    • each player's consent, proof-of-age status, and whether a parent is linked
    • anyone who still owes answers to registration questions

When the checklist says everything is in, the league can approve you.

Sending reminders

Click Send reminder to parents on the checklist. Every outstanding parent gets a fresh email, including those whose document was rejected, expired, or needs a clearer copy. Parents whose upload is still being reviewed aren't nagged.

Edge cases

  • No parent linked — the player was added without a guardian, for example by CSV import. Invite the player again as a minor so their parent can accept on their behalf, then they'll appear in the parent's Player Portal.
  • You can't see the documents — only StatsCentral reviewers see them. You'll only ever see whether a player is verified.
  • A date of birth changed — if a parent corrects a date, or the document shows a different one, you'll get a notification. Check the player still fits the division's age range.
